Making Media Beautiful and Easier for Mobile

One of the bigger challenges that organizations face is translating their website from desktop to mobile, and back again. For text and images, the fix can be a simple one. However, rich media like audio and video can sometimes get lost in the mobile shuffle.

That's why we're pleased to announce the latest addition to our Ekklesia 360 platform: The new media player.

Here's what our developers have to say about it (you can read more on the full release here if you'd like):

This new player will integrate both audio and video, have support for playlists, album art, HTML5 fallback, and will just generally look more up to date than the player we have been using. Here are a couple of screenshots:

What does this mean for our current and potential clients? Simply put, when you use Ekklesia 360 you won't have to worry about media compatibility with mobile devices. Some smart phones and tablets allow Flash (the old standard for publishing media content online). Others don't.

Now you, as the content publisher, don't have to think about it. If someone visits your site and wants to access the media on your page, our player will automatically adjust to the device they're using and deliver the appropriate format.

Cool, huh?

If you've been thinking about updating your organization's website, why not take our platform for a spin? With mobile usage on the rise, and website users desiring a richer, media-based experience, now might be the perfect time to try this new media player out for yourself.

Either way, organizations that utilize media on their website need to be aware of formatting issues and how their player accomodates for the different ways people access websites.

How are you preparing your website to go mobile? Share in the comments below. We'd love to hear from you!
